Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Mining and Plant Group Pty Ltd (ABN 58 112 528 444), trading as MAP Group ("we", "us"), handles your personal information. We follow the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

• Contact details: name, company, email, phone number, when you send a message, request a quote or create an account.
• Order details: delivery address, parts ordered, amounts paid and order history.
• Account details: your email and a password (stored encrypted, we can't read it). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google, and nothing else.
• Technical data: the IP address of each form submission, kept in a scrambled form for a few days at most, only to block spam.

We never receive or store your card details. Payments are handled directly by Stripe.

Why we use it

• To answer your enquiries and prepare quotes.
• To process, deliver and support your orders, and to issue invoices.
• To manage your customer account and order history.
• To keep the website secure and stop spam or fraud.
• To meet our legal obligations (tax, accounting, consumer law).

We don't sell your information and we don't send marketing emails unless you ask for them. Emails about your orders and quotes are part of the service.

Who we share it with

Only with the services we need to run the website and the business:

• Stripe: online card payments.
• Supabase: secure database and user accounts.
• Vercel: website hosting.
• Resend: sending order and enquiry emails.
• simPRO: our job and quote management system.
• Cloudflare: spam protection on our forms.
• Google: optional "Continue with Google" sign-in, and the map on our contact page.
• Freight carriers, to deliver your order.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia, mainly in the United States. We choose providers with strong security practices and only share what each one needs. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Cookies and local storage

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. Your cart and quote list are saved in your own browser so you don't lose them. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The Google Maps embed on the contact page may set its own cookies, see Google's privacy policy.

How long we keep it

Order and invoice records are kept for at least 5 years, as required by Australian tax law. Enquiries and quotes are kept while they are useful to serve you. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), access to customer data is limited to authorised MAP Group staff, and passwords are never stored in readable form. No system is 100% secure, but if a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm we will notify you and the OAIC as the law requires.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account. Email enquiries@mapgroup.net.au. We will reply within 30 days.
